Among them is also its ability to improve our dental health; to prevent heart disease; and to avoid colds and flu.
Therefore, it is a good idea to include it regularly in our diet. In addition, we can drink it both hot and cold. A good cup of freshly brewed tea will brighten up any winter morning. But if we prepare a green tea with mint and lime, well chilled, it will be a perfect and refreshing substitute for soft drinks on the hottest days.
But before starting with the recipe, if you like herbal teas, do not miss this Hot Toddy recipe, or kombucha tea, a natural probiotic that is also very healthy.
Green Tea with Mint and Lime Recipe
It is true that we can find in the market a multitude of infusions that already include mint or lime. But the truth is that it is always much more beneficial, and will bring us much more flavor, to make them homemade. In addition, these infusions are usually treated, so we lose many nutrients from the teas. That is why, if we frequently take infusions or teas of any kind, it is best to buy them from herbalists. As natural as possible, and avoid the sachets sold in the supermarket.
In addition, we can combine them with the ingredients we prefer and give them a multitude of different flavors by adding our favorite herbs or fruits.
Let’s see how to prepare this healthy green tea with mint and lemon:
For this infusion we need green tea. As we said, you can either buy bags of green tea; or, follow our choice, and buy it in bulk at the herbalist.
Regarding the lime, you can substitute it perfectly for lemon; and mint for peppermint or any other similar aromatic plant. Try with the combinations that you like until you find your favorite.
If you want to give it an even more intense lime flavor, when you infuse the tea, add the peel of the lime or lemon. But remember to peel it very well and not to take the white skin, because it is bitter.
