Recipe of kefir cake
This cake is made in exactly the same way as any other cake, only using kefir milk. So, following this recipe, we can make cakes of all kinds and many flavors using kefir milk. We can include some fruit, elaborate it with chocolate, prepare a delicious topping…
Let’s start by mixing the dry ingredients, previously sieved. Then, we will add the beaten eggs, the kefir, the oil and a little vanilla essence to the mixture. Mix everything together and place in a previously greased oven. It only remains to bake.
To check that the cake is ready, prick it with a toothpick or a fork in the middle. If it comes out clean, your cake is done.
Kefir Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 1 cup kefir
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- Salt a pinch
Instructions
- We start by preheating the oven to 180ºC. We are going to grease the mold where we will bake it to have it ready.
- In a large bowl, we are going to mix the flour, sugar, yeast and a pinch of salt, all previously sifted.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, mix them with the kefir, the oil and the vanilla essence. Mix well.
- In this second bowl we are going to add, little by little, the dry ingredients. Mix until a homogeneous dough is obtained. Pour this batter into the greased pan and bake at 180ºC for about 40-45 minutes.
- After this time, check that it is ready by pricking it with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, we can let it cool slightly and then unmold it.
Some tips and ideas for your kefir sponge cake
