Mushroom sauce is a very versatile, rich and easy sauce. It has it all. We can accompany pasta with this delicious sauce. But we can also use it to accompany all kinds of meats (it goes especially well with chicken or pork, although it is also the perfect accompaniment for a good veal entrecote); as a filling for cannelloni or simply to accompany some cooked rice. If you also want to try it, don’t miss this mushroom sauce recipe for all kinds of dishes.

Some people even use it to accompany some fish. In the kitchen it is a matter of innovating and trying. And a mushroom sauce like this one cannot go wrong with anything.

Besides, mushrooms are a very healthy mushroom with a mild and pleasant flavor.

How to make mushroom sauce recipe

We can make our sauce with milk or cream. We have chosen cream to give it a creamier texture, but you can substitute it with milk. First of all, we are going to sauté the onion and then add the sliced mushrooms.

Once we have the sauce ready, we grind it so that it is homogeneous. Although it is not necessary, because if we are going to use it to accompany meats, it will also be great with the sliced mushrooms and without crushing. Leave some mushrooms uncrushed to give it more texture and at the same time to decorate more the dish where you use it.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Kg Mushrooms
  • 1 Onion
  • 200 ml Cream
  • 1 glass White wine (Small)
  • 1 Nutmeg
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Butter

Instructions
 

  • Start by washing the mushrooms well under the tap. Remove the stem and cut the mushrooms into slices. Set aside.
    1 Kg Mushrooms
  • Peel the onion, chop finely into small cubes. In a frying pan, put the two tablespoons of butter. When it melts, put the onion over medium heat and cook until it starts to become transparent.
    1 Onion, 2 Tbsp Butter
  • When the onion is transparent, add the mushrooms and sauté for about 5 minutes.
    1 Kg Mushrooms
  • Add the wine and let the alcohol evaporate. When there is no wine left, add the cream, salt and pepper to taste, add nutmeg, a pinch, and cook again for a few minutes.
    Once ready, blend everything. The mushroom sauce is ready.
    200 ml Cream, 1 glass White wine, 1 Nutmeg, Pepper, Salt
