It is believed that this snack was invented in 1968. Thanks to two surfers from California who started mixing peanuts and raisins to get an energetic snack, easy to carry and eat, when they went surfing. And they came up with a great combination of ingredients that gave them the energy and nutrients they needed after hours of exercise. In addition, the combination of salty and sweet, enhanced both flavors.
Although there are those who claim that this recipe is somewhat earlier, as it already appears in a book by Jack Kerouac, where his two protagonists elaborate a combination of nuts for their hiking trips.

Cheer up and prepare your own mix, you will get a great and very healthy snack with your favorite nuts. Here are some options.
The great advantage of preparing your own mixed nuts is that we will avoid the large amounts of sugar that some of these preparations contain. In addition, we will prepare it completely to our taste, thus avoiding the typical selection that we all unconsciously make when buying a nut cocktail.
We can also add an extra flavor by adding different spices. When you have it ready, store it in an airtight glass jar and you will have your cocktail ready for every time you want a snack; or to replenish after exercise.

Mix the quantities you prefer of each of these three nuts and flavor with a touch of sea salt and a pinch of cinnamon. Delicious!
