The French omelette is a versatile and simple dish. In just a few minutes we can have ready a delicious, light dinner with a multitude of possibilities. And today we bring you one of the many versions that this dish offers us: do not miss this recipe of French omelette or chard omelette. A delicious way to eat this vegetable that is so hard for the little ones.
This is a simple version of the Chard Omelette, but with the difference that in this case we are going to make a French omelette, also called omelette. Therefore, it will be thinner and will not have so much filling.
In addition, it is such a versatile preparation that it admits a multitude of variations. You can combine the chard with many other ingredients to give it a personal touch; later we will see all the options we have to give another touch to this recipe.
Before starting with our omelette, we are going to cook the chard. Just put them in a pot with plenty of water and boil until tender. The stalks, you can add them cut or reserve them for other recipes.
But, if you want to save the step of cooking the chard, use tender chard, the ones used for salads. In this way, it will be enough to sauté them in a little oil until they are cooked, before including them in the beaten eggs.
As we were saying, this simple recipe is very versatile, so it admits a multitude of different ingredients to give it another touch.
For example, we can add a little tuna, onion or spring onion, a few slices of ham, cooked ham, bacon….
It will also look great with garlic, all kinds of cheese…
And, if we want to treat ourselves, serve it with a little mayonnaise on a sandwich. It is also a good idea for those days when you want to eat in the countryside or do some route. Just don’t let it get too hot so that the omelette doesn’t spoil.
You can accompany this French omelette with chard with something simple and light. For example a chopped tomato, or some cucumber sticks with a pinch of salt. It will be more than enough for a healthy and complete dinner.
You can also serve it with a mix of green leaves, arugula, lettuce…
