Ingredients

  • 4 potatoes
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  • First we peel the garlic. In a pot, where we are going to cook the potatoes, put a little bit of oil, and when it is hot, add the garlic. Cook over medium-low heat, so that they cook slowly and without burning. And, when they are well browned, add enough water to cover the potatoes.
  • Bring to the boil. As soon as it starts to boil, add a handful of salt and the potatoes previously peeled and cut into pieces. Let it cook for about 20-30 minutes, until the potatoes are very tender. You can check it by pricking them with a fork. If it goes in easily, they are ready to mash.
  • Once the potatoes are very tender, take them out of the pot, together with the garlic, add the butter and the milk and mash well. Do not add cooking broth until you start mashing. It is better to correct later by adding more broth than if we overdo it at the beginning, because it will have no solution. Correct the texture by adding more broth if necessary, until it is to our taste and season with salt and pepper.
Now we have ready a delicious mashed potatoes and garlic.
