Did you know that sugar cookies have centuries of history?

Mentions of sugar cookies appear already in the ancient Persian Empire, around 500 B.C., when they discovered sugar and learned how to extract it from sugar cane.

Later, in the 2nd century BC, the Chinese also began to process sugar from sugar cane, and began to use it in cookies and cakes.
