Many of us love flavored drinks, besides, the good weather arrives and it seems to be what quenches our thirst the most. However, these drinks, like soft drinks, are loaded with sugars, preservatives, and are not at all healthy for us. Therefore, we bring you a completely natural alternative: Lemon Peppermint Water. A great way to prepare a drink of the most hydrating, full of flavor and that everyone will like.
In addition, preparing this mint water with lemon is very simple. You will see that in a few minutes we will have a great drink ready for the hottest days.
But, before starting with our recipe, if you like these drinks, do not miss the Ginger Tea or Ginger Water, which, although it is an infusion, we can take it cold in the hottest days. In addition, like this drink that we bring you today, it also has many properties for our body.
We have chosen to prepare this drink cold. That is to say, we will mix the juice of the lemons with the water and the mint leaves. Once we have everything mixed, we only have to let it cool for a few hours in the refrigerator. This way, the water will get all the flavor of the mint.
However, we can also make it by infusing the mint if we want to get the most out of it. Later we will see how to make this drink but infusing the mint.
Remember that, if you cannot find mint, you can substitute it perfectly well with mint. The result will be very similar and you will also get a great and delicious natural drink.
And, although we are going to add a little sugar, it is totally optional. You can omit it perfectly and make a very healthy drink that you can have at any time.
As we said, we can also make this drink by infusing the mint leaves.
To do this, we will put the mint leaves, previously washed, in a pot with water. From the moment it starts to boil, we count a few minutes (between 3-5 minutes) and remove from heat. Put the lid on and let it infuse for another 10 minutes.
After this time, strain the water to remove any remaining mint leaves. Let it cool and store in the refrigerator until it is completely cold.
In this same infusion we can also add some lemon wedges, or include them later, when we let our drink cool.
In this way, we will get the most out of our mint and we will also have a magnificent drink full of nutrients.
Just as lemon goes very well with this drink, we can also substitute it (or even combine it) with any other citrus fruit. For example, with limes, oranges, tangerines, grapefruit…
We can even substitute citrus fruits for any other fruit, for example strawberries or pineapple.
We can also add a few slices of ginger if we like that spicy and energizing touch that this spice provides.
If you prefer to add a refreshing and light touch, you can also add a few slices of cucumber to the water, once infused with mint. It will be great!
We already know that lemon is a great ally of our health, as it brings us many benefits. But in addition, mint also brings great benefits to this healthy natural drink. Let’s take a look at them:
