Today we want to increase our collection of Homemade Flavored Vinegars with one of the most colorful and original. It is a vinegar flavored with fruit; a great option to dress our spring salads, while we bring a unique aroma and flavor to our dishes. If you like to have your own dressings and condiments ready, join us to see this great recipe for Raspberry Flavored Vinegar.
This delicious vinegar is a very original way to dress salads. It will provide a delicious flavor and aroma. Like all the flavored vinegars we make at home, you can use it in all recipes that include vinegar. But on this occasion, keep in mind that we are going to elaborate it with fruit. So remember the sweet touch that this vinegar will bring when adding it to your dishes.
For example, and this is something very personal because each person has their own taste, I try to avoid combining fruits with garlic, because I do not like the result at all. So if the same thing happens to you, avoid using this vinegar in salads that include garlic.
For this simple recipe we will only need vinegar, the one we prefer, raspberries and cinnamon stick. In addition to a glass jar. So that the vinegar takes the aroma and flavor of the raspberries, it has to rest with them between a week and ten days. And it is preferable that it is in a glass jar.
We will not cover it hermetically during this time, but it will be enough to put a cork or a cloth fastened with a rubber band.
Regarding the vinegar, choose the one you like the most. Depending on whether you like it stronger or milder. Although we are going to follow this recipe with white vinegar, you can use the one you like the most.
We will continue heating the vinegar with the cinnamon, so that it takes its aroma and flavor. And, once infused with the cinnamon, we will mix it with the raspberries. Now all we have to do is let it rest for at least a week. Until it takes the flavor of the raspberries.
Isn’t it very easy to make? Well, let’s see the recipe step by step.
Every day, or every other day, we are going to move the mixture slightly. This way the raspberries will release all their flavor. After the indicated time, we can use our raspberry vinegar in our favorite recipes.
This raspberry vinegar can be made with all the wild berries we can think of. For example, blackberries, blueberries, cherries… Or we can even combine them as we like.
In addition to letting the vinegar macerate with the fruit, we can also add some more crushed raspberries. In this way they will bring a more colorful color to our vinegar. Only in this case remember to strain the vinegar before using it after the ten days of rest.
And finally, if you want your vinegar to have a sweeter touch, perfect for dressing fruit salads, add one or two tablespoons of sugar when you infuse the cinnamon stick.
And with this we finish our great raspberry flavored vinegar, a great vinegar ideal to give more color and flavor to our dishes.
