But what are Wraps?
Wraps are snacks originally from Mexico, consisting of wheat or corn tortillas, which are filled with all kinds of ingredients.
They are a very original and fun way to make the little ones eat all kinds of vegetables. In addition, we can include as many ingredients as we want, and make all kinds of combinations.
Chicken and Chard Wraps recipe, a delicious and fun dinner
This recipe is very simple and versatile. To make them we will need wheat or corn tortillas, whichever you prefer. Calculate approximately two tortillas per person to make a single dish. Otherwise, one tortilla for each person will be enough if we serve a starter or a light first course.
We can use fresh chard, the ones used for salads, which are smaller, which we will add raw; or normal chard, which we will have to cook. Remove the stalks and save them for another recipe, as we are not going to include them in this one.
In addition to the chicken, the chard, and the rest of the ingredients that we will include, we are going to cover it all with a simple homemade yogurt sauce. You will see that this sauce is also very easy to prepare, as we will simply mix the yogurt with lemon juice, pepper and garlic powder, although you can include as many spices as you want in this sauce.

Chicken and Chard Wraps Recipe
- 4 Tortillas
- 500 g Swiss chard
- 300 g Chicken
- 1/2 Chives
- 2 Carrots
- 1 Avocado
- 1 Greek Yogurt
- 1/2 Lemon
- Garlic Powder
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Let's start with the chicken. We cut it into thin strips, and not too big. In a frying pan, put a drizzle of oil and cook the chicken previously seasoned with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- We continue with the chard. If they are tender, that is to say, small, the ones we use for salads, it is not necessary to do anything with them. We will add them to the wrap raw, previously washed. If they are larger chards, we will have to cook them. Remove the stalks, because we will not use them in this recipe, save them for other preparations.Cut the chard leaves, previously washed, in bite-sized portions. Put water in a pot and, when it comes to a boil, add the leaves. Cook for about 10 minutes, drain the water and set aside.
- Continue chopping the rest of the vegetables. Cut the carrots into thin strips, the avocado into chunks, and the spring onion into julienne strips. Fill each tortilla with chicken strips and vegetables. Before closing each wrap, add the sauce.
- To make the yogurt sauce, mix it with the juice of half a lemon, a pinch of salt, a little garlic powder and pepper. Mix well and sprinkle each wrap with this sauce, to taste.
Other ideas for Chard Wraps
This recipe is very versatile and can be modified in many ways.
For example, you can give more flavor to the chicken by marinating it beforehand. We can also cook it in other ways, for example, you can boil it to make it a lighter recipe or steam it.
Substitute the chicken for other meat, such as beef, pork, turkey… or fish. You can make wraps and accompany them with the chard and these ingredients with salmon, tuna…
Or, if you prefer 100% vegetable wraps, use tofu as the main ingredient.
Regarding vegetables, you can incorporate as many as you want, and combine them as you like.
