Walnuts are an important and healthy nut loaded with nutrients and vitamins that are essential for our body. But besides being so beneficial, they are delicious; and they are very versatile in the kitchen. We can include them in a multitude of different recipes. For all this, and to raise awareness about the benefits of including them in our diet, is celebrated every May 17 International Nut Day. A date marked to commemorate this important food. Although we commonly refer to the fruit of the walnut tree, or Juglans Regia, as walnut; the truth is that any nut from any tree of the genus Juglans is known as walnut. So, under this description, also almonds or hazelnuts would be different types of nuts.
But, returning to the common walnut, the walnut, it has a multitude of properties and benefits. They are an essential food if we want to have a varied and healthy diet. Although we have already seen in detail all the benefits of walnuts, let’s remember them a little above to start celebrating Walnut Day:

Since nuts are such a versatile and healthy food, May 17 has been established as International Nut Day. A date created in order to raise awareness of this nut even more.
And, although we have researched very thoroughly about this date, we have not been able to find its creator. Possibly, like many other gastronomic anniversaries, it was created by some organization or association related to walnuts. It is undoubtedly a great opportunity to promote the benefits of this food and make more and more people aware of them.
How to celebrate International Nut Day
Without a doubt, the best way to celebrate this day is to start including walnuts in our diet if we don’t already do so. Or, use walnuts to include them in any of our favorite recipes, both sweet and savory.
On this day, in addition, activities are usually organized around nuts, to promote knowledge about them and their inclusion in our diet.
